Mini Mondays
Every Monday I will release a small painting - a "Mini Monday" painting. These small paintings are a great way to snag an affordable, original art piece for your collection! Make sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram (click the icons at the bottom of the page), and turn on post notifications so you know when I'm posting, as each new painting will be offered at a discount only on the first Monday they are posted.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoy creating them!
This painting emerged by pushing paint around, with no real end goal in mind. I enjoy this process because it releases me from bonds of reference photos or real life and lets me create from a place of zen. To me, this painting represents new beginnings, finding peace, the rest one’s soul receives from enjoying the outdoors.

In Hollywood, sometimes the most magical place to be is on a studio backlot at night. The hustle and bustle of the day has quieted, and the street facades glow with the kind of magic only found in the movies.
I painted this as an impression of a visit to a major motion picture back lot one night. The original painting has sold, but I hand embellished this 4”x6” Print matted and framed in a 5”x7” frame with iridescent paint that adds to the glow.
This painting depicts the College Backs in Cambridge UK, where the River Cam winds through Cambridge University grounds. I highly recommend taking a Punting tour if you ever visit. The flat-bottom boats are pushed along the river bed by a pole, similar to the gondolas in Venice.

This mini painting echoes the stillness of a moonlit night. Away from civilization, not a sound but a cricket here or there. All is calm.
5” x 7” oil on canvas paper, framed. This painting has a metallic silver that gives life to the moon’s glow.
This painting was done plein air, painted from life in the great outdoors. A tree in full bloom shining in the sun signaling winter is in the past.

This abstracted landscape is inspired by the Tulip fields in the Pacific Northwest. Their vibrancy pushes through any gray day and transforms it into something beautiful. We all have gray days in our lives, what’s your Tulip Field?

This 5”x7” mini painting was painted En Plein Air in the forests of Washington. The Palette knife technique lays on a thick, delicious texture. I love the way the sun shone through this certain patch of the forest - it gives a bright and hopeful feel to the piece. This painting is unframed, perfect to place in any 5”x7” frame of your choice!
Having a general idea of where I want to go, but leaving room for making detours and discovering cool new things along the way… One of my favorite ways to travel is also one of my favorite ways to paint.
I didn’t use any reference photo for this painting. I had in mind a color scheme and the image of this place, a place of calm. From there, I just pushed paint around until I saw the forms emerge, and eventually a landscape was born.
This is one of my favorite ways to paint, because it’s a bit like exploring, you never know where you’ll find yourself in the end. This painting took me to a very meditative state, allowed me to be present in the current moment without an agenda. Just taking in the scenery as it emerged and sitting in its still, calm beauty. I think the painting reflects that and hopefully will take you to that place as well.
This painting is oil on canvas paper and comes with its 5” x 7” frame.
A lovely night in London town. This romantic 5” x 7” oil painting of a lovely night on the Thames is framed and matted. It takes me back to dreamy days walking around the city, enjoying the views, with not a care in the world.
A rainy and wet season in a small Pacific Northwest town. But the trees bursting with blossoms brings a bright pop of hope for sunnier days ahead.
Seattle has a great aviation community that I’ve gotten to spend some time in, thanks to my boyfriend who likes anything sky bound. I painted this from a photo I took during a skydiving weekend. To me, it represents passion, excitement, and the lure of new horizons.
